Coffee and Lifestyle Strictly Organic Coffee Co.

This is one case where the name says it all. Owners Richard Steffensen and Rhonda Ealy are devoted to sustainability, both in coffee and lifestyle. All of Strictly Organic’s beans are 100 percent organic and fair-trade certified, air-roasted and ground in-house. The company recycles all of its coffee waste to a local organic farm, buys renewable energy, partners with local green organizations and even makes door-to-door deliveries via bicycle.

Prominently located at the edge of downtown at the corner of Arizona Avenue and Bond Street, the shop has the most extensive breakfast-and-lunch menu among local coffee shops. Homemade granola, quiches, soups, salads and sandwiches — available with gluten-free bread or for vegan diets on request — are available throughout the day. Local art hangs on the walls, and products made from recycled jute coffee bags are sold to patrons.

  1. I live near Boston and you would think there would be all sorts of cool coffee haunts around, but I honestly cannot find one for the life of me. I love my organic coffee of choice, but it would be great to drink it in public amongst friends. If anyone can recommend a cool coffee shop in the Boston Metro area, I'm all ears/eyes.
